Laura Jaeger steps down as athletic director at Central Catholic, transferring to new function with Rams

After an 11-year tenure because the athletic director at Central Catholic, Laura Jaeger has introduced that she’ll be transferring to a brand new place with the southeast Portland college.

“After a lot contemplation, I’ve made the choice to step away as Athletic Director and transition to a brand new function at Central Catholic for the upcoming college 12 months,” Jaeger wrote in a letter shared with the college on Monday. “This new function will permit me to work instantly with college students and supply them with the additional assist they require to achieve success. This function is intently aligned with my background and passions, and I’m excited to get again to working extra intently with college students, as I did after I served as Dean of College students.”

In Jaeger’s tenure with the college, Central Catholic has received a complete of 15 OSAA crew state championships, together with 5 in soccer, 5 in boys cross nation, and one every in boys observe and discipline, women observe and discipline, volleyball, boys soccer and boys basketball.

Notably, Central Catholic’s soccer and boys basketball groups have each received state championships within the 2023-24 college 12 months.

Jaeger’s departure from the athletics applications means the autumn of 2024-25 will see a significant new search for the Rams, who additionally mentioned goodbye to longtime soccer coach Steve Pyne after the 2023 season. Central Catholic has since employed Charlie Landgraf to cleared the path for the defending Class 6A state champions.
