Produced from a single winery of 100% Chardonnay Champagne clones planted on Wealden clay over Tunbridge Wells sand, the grapes have been hand-harvested in October 2014 in Kent, SE England.
This blanc de blancs has minimal 30 months on the lees and solely 500 bottles of the 8000 produced are disgorged at one time, including to the complexity of these left longest on the lees.
A nice gentle golden hue within the glass. The nostril is wealthy with a contact of apple and grapefruit, with added complexity from autolytic character. Endurance is rewarded with the revealing of layers of extra citrus and apple flavours, all set in opposition to an excellent energetic acidity that means this wine has way more to present. Very low dosage of 5g/l however it works very properly.
Lengthy elegant barely saline end with that tantalising want for an additional glass (which we had!). I think about this might be heavenly with oysters.
