Diageo pronounces sustainability partnerships in Africa – Drinks Worldwide


Diageo has introduced three new partnerships to assist construct resilience inside smallholder communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, as a part of its innovation accelerator, Diageo Sustainable Options (DSS).

DSS launched 4 years in the past to spend money on new applied sciences and partnerships with innovators to develop sustainability options. The corporate invests each assets and funding to allow improvements to adapt Diageo’s provide chain and develop its manufacturers in a extra sustainable manner.

John Cant, head of DSS, stated: “One of many key challenges for smallholder farmers in Africa is their publicity to local weather change and water shortage. Initially, the pilots will happen in East Africa, Kenya and Uganda, and if profitable can be scaled throughout Diageo’s provide chain.
