Decadent Drinks was current on the Campbeltown Malts Pageant 2024 they usually bottled a restricted version for the event. Whereas the label says Glen Toon 11 Yr Outdated, their web site already hints at Glen Scotia distillery.
Glen Toon 11 yo 2012 (53%, Decadent Drinks for Campbeltown Malts Pageant 2024, first fill bourbon hogshead, 225 btl.)
Nostril: I instantly bought a flashback to the Cooley 1992s from Cadenheads. An intruiging mixture of goat stables (and ditto cheese), moist canines and a muddy farminess. After a while this fades and clears up, with Glen Scotia’s lactic / buttery edge. Hints of dusty books and previous steel instruments, yellow apples, orange peels, sea air and some drops of sunflower oil.
Mouth: a fruity core (inexperienced lemon, orange, apple) with ginger and hints of chilli. The spotlight is Glen Scotia’s old-school industrial character although. Hints of walnuts, delicate metallic notes and dried herbs. Nonetheless hints of this particular peatiness. Then gentle honey and scorched fruit cake. Cinnamon and delicate smoky touches.
End: pretty lengthy, on wooden spice and dried herbs, with zesty citrus, gentle nutty notes and a candy dusty word ultimately.
Excellent, with above common complexity for the age. The distinctive Campbeltown notes make this attention-grabbing and pleasurable. In brief, a lovlyfestival bottling with good worth for cash. Nonetheless accessible from Decadent Drinks.
