Pizzini Forza Di Ferro Sangiovese 2022, King Valley, AUD $65
The Pizzini household are one of many pioneers of rising Italian grape varieties in Australia. They planted their first winery within the King Valley in 1978 and launched their first wines thirty years in the past. This wine is an homage to the good sangiovese wines of Tuscany, whether or not or not it’s Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico Riserva or a Tremendous Tuscan. The wine is archetypal sangiovese in its wild, earthy blue and purple fruitedness and signature, savoury, textured tannins. It’s a wine that deserves the best lower of beef.
Cherry purple within the glass, vibrant and engaging. Lifted aromas of darkish cherry, bramble, ferrous earth, pot pourri and raspberry pastille. There’s a stunning drive of purple and blue fruits on the mid-weighted palate, together with earth, spice and textured, grainy tannins. The flavours are complicated, savoury and multi-faceted and there’s spectacular size on the end. A very pretty sangiovese. (Screwcap)
